I’m a published travel writer and journalist but am looking for an agent for a recently completed historical/fantasy young adult book called  DRAGONS ON THE MAP as well as a nearly finished memoir called  SAILING TO PANGAEA. Both emphasize how travel and adventure can help us cope with mental, social, and cultural challenges.

Past travel book titles include multiple editions of Lonely Planet’s Guide to China, Fodor’s France, Fodor’s Paris, Fodor’s Southeast Asia, and Fodor’s China. I also wrote a chapter for The Unsavvy Traveler: Women’s Comic Tales of Catastrophe: (Seal Press).

Mei is a 13-year-old girl who’s having trouble fitting in at her new southern California school after moving from Hong Kong and traveling all over the world with her filmmaker parents. Then she starts imagining a dragon in school who takes on bullies, torches boring homework assignments on fire, and leads her to a Mongolian desert and a map that seem strangely familiar…
